A simple LED Christmas tree - just a battery, PIC, some LEDs?, and wire to make an animated display. I arranged 15 LEDs? in a tree shape (supported by their leads and power wires hot-glued together) and mounted it on a RadioShack? PCB with a 7805 regulator, PIC 16F88, and current-limiting resistors for the LEDs?. With a fresh alkaline 9V battery, it runs for about 12 hours (with the current software).

  • Schematic - Sorta crappy because I just scribbled it out in ballpoint, but it's pretty simple. One of these days I'll learn how to do proper layout.
  • Source Code - as the comments indicate, it's for a PIC 16F88 with the internal oscillator. I use the cc5x compiler - not sure if others work the same.
