In January 2006 I was using Craigslist to look for a used car (a '90s Saturn SC1 / SL1 / SW1), but it quickly became apparent that anything I was interested in usually sold within a few hours of being posted. Since I didn't have time to constantly refresh their website, I put together this little script to automatically email sellers when it finds something I'm interested in, and sends me a copy of the posting. Another nice feature is that it can poll multiple searches, something that's very inconvenient in a web browser since Craigslist doesn't do boolean searching.
