  • Spong is a cool host-monitoring system that we use in the Crew Linux project. It's relatively basic (compared to, say, Nagios), but it works well and it's very easy to set up.

  • dailystrips is a comic-gathering Perl script I wrote so that I don't have to visit a dozen different websites to read all my comics. Unfortunately, I haven't been maintaining it much lately because (1) most of my time is spent on other things, and (2) it does everything I need now.

  • Picasa is a free digital-photo management application with keyword searching and non-destructive editing, among other nifty features. It's unfortunately for Windows only, but it sure beats managing files and folders directly. Oh, and it's a Google product now.
